Big mountain snowboarder Marcin Jaskolka combines his love of mountaineering and snowboarding into epic adventures. In 2010, Marcin pioneered a new line on the 26,600-foot Nanga Parbat, in Pakistan, considered one of the hardest mountains in the world to climb. Marcin puts great emphasis on the exploration of new areas by planning and executing freeride projects in the Alps, South America, Asia and the Himalayas. He is a member of the Beskid Group of Polish Mountain Rescuers and an ambassador for the organization Protect our Winters.

How much splitboarding do you do?
I think that at least half of my winter season is splitboarding.

How has splitboarding changed snowboarding?
Splitboarding has brought more freedom to the world of snowboarding. For me, splitboarding it is a pure, natural freeride. Now you decide where to go and where to ride.

For you, what’s a perfect day splitboarding?
Fresh snow, sun, friends, exploration of new areas and cold beer at the end of the day. But really every day on the splitboard is perfect!
