Emilien Badoux was born in Sierre, Switzerland. Growing up in the Valais Mountains, it was impossible for Emilien to “resist the wonderful and snowy slopes,” he said, and by the age of 9, he was already learning to snowboard. Attracted to and excelling at both freestyle and backcountry riding, Emilien turned pro at age sixteen. His early years riding and competing built a foundation of skills that culminated in 2014, when Emilien won the Freeride World Tour (FWT) overall championship in Chamonix, France.

Q & A

I do a lot, especially early in the winter and late season, when it is hard to find good snow close; or if I am very interested to ride a new mountain with hard access.

Many of my friends stopped snowboarding for skiing because it was more convenient for hiking. After the splitboarding revolution, all my friends came back to snowboarding because it is the best in powder conditions.

Start at sunrise; be the first to the top; good friends; and riding the best snow conditions on a new mountain dear to my heart.

Because it is the best binding system for splitboarding!!!
