Vancouver Island Backcountry Festival

The 5th Annual Vancouver Island Backcountry Festival takes place at Mt. Cain on Feb. 7-8. We will once again be offering guided tours by donation, with ACMG certified guides whose goal will be to take people out and explore while offering advice, tips, and education along the way. The gear raffle takes place on Saturday where we will be raffling off gear donated by our sponsors. All proceeds from the raffle and guided tours go to support the Vancouver Island Avalanche Centre Society, enabling us to continue to provide forecasting for the island. Saturday night will host the now legendary backcountry party, where we will setup more than our share of lights, lasers and speakers outside in the snow, with multiple DJ’s to keep people dancing into the early hours of the morning.
